The Power of Godly Anger

Print

Sometimes during the week certain things may happen that could cause us to experience anger. But God being the good Father that He is has given us wisdom to deal with our emotions. Because of Christ we have authority over our emotions just as we have the power to get wealth and dominion over the earth. We just need to exercise our authority.

We don’t need to pray to God about a situation or comment that causes us to become angry when we have already been given authority over it. Not only do we need to exercise our authority, we also need to direct it. We cannot expect to receive good results by holding on to anger. The enemy wants us to focus on the person and the offense rather than on God and His ways. However, expressing anger against evil, not against people, helps us put our authority into practice. Godly anger serves a powerful purpose.

God and Jesus demonstrated the emotion of anger, which fell within its intended purpose. When we speak the Word of God and the devil comes against us, the right kind of anger actually helps us resist him and make him flee. The next time an opportunity presents itself to get angry with a person or situation, direct it toward the enemy, remind him that he is a defeated foe, and watch him flee quicker than he came.

Prayer

Father, I can come boldly to Your throne. I live boldly, and acknowledge You in all that I do because of what Jesus has done. Thank You for the ability to understand how to use godly anger to resist the devil. Right now, I command every situation in my life to come into alignment with Your Word. I declare that You are Lord over my life and the enemy cannot stop what You have ordained. Thank You for the Holy Spirit Who guides me even where my emotions are concerned. I will never be defeated by my emotional battles because Jesus has already paid the price for me to win. It’s in Jesus’ name that I pray and believe, amen.
