Supernatural Restoration

Print

Life can be exhilarating and wonderful much of the time. Despite that, we’ve all hit rough spots when it seemed like everything went wrong at once; feeling that everything we’ve worked for has been stolen from us in an instant is frightening. There’s actually an enemy loose in the world intent on stealing what he can from us. Thankfully, God’s favor has made available supernatural restoration of everything the devil stole.

Satan wants to steal our peace, our happiness, our joy, our prosperity, and everything good that we’ve been blessed with. His deeds can bruise our spirits and leave us feeling heartsick and emotionally wounded. God restores our health and heals our wounds. This type of restoration is God’s will for us.

The only thing that blocks restoration is doubt about whether God wants to do this. In the Old Testament, David had to flee from King Saul and others who wanted to kill him. The situation looked bleak for David, but his faith caused him to experience God’s restoration. He would have fainted if he had not believed he would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Contemplating God’s promise of restoration of everything that we’ve lost brings us to the point where we can’t help but rejoice. Happiness comes from how we feel, but joy comes from what we know. Faith takes what grace has already made; we receive by faith what the finished works of Jesus made available to us. God has restored the joy of our salvation, and He upholds us with His Spirit.

Joy is powerful and explosive; when our joy is restored, the door opens to restoration in other areas as well. Even if the fig tree won’t blossom, there’s no fruit on the vines, the fields yield no meat, and there’s no herd in the stalls, we can take joy in the God of our salvation. When we rejoice, restoration isn’t far behind.

Prayer:

Lord, Your will for us is to restore anything stolen, missing, or broken in our lives. You’re a good God who gives us good things because You love us. We’re thankful for this. In Jesus’ name, amen.
