How the Power of God Flows

Print

Unwavering faith, trust, and belief in what God tells us will allow His power to flow in our lives. Mark 5:25-30 tells the story of a woman who had suffered from a blood disorder for 12 years and spent all of her money trying to find a cure. She heard about Jesus, and believed without a doubt that by simply touching His garment, she would be made whole. This woman took action by going after Jesus, and immediately she was healed. Think about how many people were actually in the crowd that day and needed healing, yet the woman with the issue of blood was the only one that received the manifestation of healing. This was because of her faith. It was not because of the power that was in Jesus, the will of God alone, or anything else that can be named. In Mark 5:34 Jesus says to the woman, “Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.” How does the power of God flow? Through our faith. The example of the woman with the issue of blood who believed in Jesus strongly enough to take action teaches us that God’s power always flows through other people. It never works independently. We must give God our consent to receive what He has made available by trusting Him completely and taking Him at His Word. God is not a man that He should lie, but a trusting Father. He is always available and ready for us. Our job is to believe so His power can flow in our lives in greater measures. Now it’s not a matter of if God will or will not do something that He promised, it is a matter of our belief. Faith takes it! Without question or hesitation, and when we spend time meditating on God’s Word, hearing the Gospel preached, and listening to the Holy Spirit we position ourselves to increase our faith. God makes known the end from the beginning. We must believe and know that if we don’t see it right now, it’s not over. We take it by faith!

Prayer

Father, thank You for always being true to Your Word. You are faithful even when I am not and I praise You for that. I commit to living by faith and I declare right now that I am a Believer. I believe in Jesus, I believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, and I take what You have promised by faith. Faith settles it and I believe it now in Jesus’ name, amen.
