God Wants Healing for Us

Print
If you’ve ever struggled with a health issue that seemed to linger on and on, you most likely remember wondering when healing would eventually come. Doctors do their best, but there are some things that even they can’t do. Thankfully, the finished works of Jesus made healing at every level available to us. Believing this causes what already exists in the spiritual realm to be manifested in the physical realm.

Sickness and disease entered into the world when Adam and Eve sinned; it took Jesus’ ending the law and establishing grace through the shedding of His blood to make perfect health available to the believer again. When we believed in Him, He freed us from the law of sin and death. Sin no longer has dominion over us, because we’re no longer the law, but under grace.

We live in an environment that doesn’t know God or His will for us, and thereby questions it. God actually wants us to be healed and whole. When Jesus met the leper, the leper asked Him if He was willing to make him clean. Jesus answered yes, and immediately healed the man.

The world has the wrong idea about God, and thinks that health issues are God’s way of punishing us for our sins. This was true until Jesus went to the cross and took all of our punishment onto Himself. Under the covenant of grace, God doesn’t punish us with sickness. When it comes, He does use it to show us His glory; this was what Jesus had to explain to the disciples when they encountered the man who was blind from birth. For God, every infirmity is an opportunity for Him to heal us.

We aren’t like the world; we therefore don’t have to tolerate illness. Jesus has already made perfect health available to us. Accepting by faith what He wants us to have brings it to pass.

Prayer:

God, Your will for us is healing and wholeness, with nothing missing and nothing broken. Since we know Your Word concerning this, we don’t ever have to put up with being sick again. Thank You for this. In Jesus’ name, amen.
