Claim the Promises

God wants us to have the best in life, but unless we know how to lay hold of the awesome and wonderful things He made available to us, we’ll never receive them. This type of frustration isn’t God’s will; it’s not His nature to dangle something unattainable in front of us. Whatever we’re hoping and praying for, we must believe it’s already done through the finished works of Christ. Having faith in what grace has made is important, because otherwise we’ll waste our efforts trying to get God to do something He already did.

Although we’ve been promised healing, peace, joy, prosperity, abundance, and everything good we could possibly imagine, our response to situations that rise up determines whether we receive those manifestations. A fear-based response keeps us in the situation; a faith-based response speeds up the resolution for the better. When Jesus fed the multitudes, rather than responding in doubt to what looked like insufficiency, He gave thanks; when He was at sea with the disciples and a storm threatened to sink their boat, He responded in faith. When we have faith in the authority Jesus has given us, we can speak to our storms and they have to obey us.

Our trust in God, not in our works, is the key to unlocking the promises. Faith gives us access to the grace in which we stand. Even when our own faith fails, we can depend on the faith of Jesus, which is given to all who believe.

We’ve been blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ; this empowers us to have success in every area of life. To experience physical blessings we must first receive them in the spiritual realm. We speak them into existence in our lives by acknowledging every good thing that’s in us through Christ Jesus. Christ lives in us if we’ve been born again; because the blessings are in Him and He is in us, He gives us access to everything we need.

Prayer:

Lord, Your Word specifically tells us how to access all the good things You’ve created for us to enjoy. You’ve made available to us everything we’ll ever need for a victorious life. Thank You for giving us the faith to claim it all. In Jesus’ name, amen.
