“And the apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our faith.’ So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you” (Luke 17:5, 6, NKJV).
If we get discouraged, thinking we need more faith for it to be effective, Jesus teaches us that even a little faith is more than enough when we employ it. Regardless of how big any problem may appear to be, planting the seeds of faith and letting God water them will produce a harvest.
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).
Faith and confidence are linked. The more we build up our confidence in the finished works of Jesus, the stronger our faith becomes. Hearing the word of God impacts us spiritually and increases that confidence level.
“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm” (Psalm 20:7, 8, NIV).
There are plenty of things in which we can trust but, when we rely on God, we are victorious in life. He will never let us down or betray our trust in him.
“For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it” (Hebrews 4:2).
The power of the word of God is effective in our lives only when we receive it by faith. If we are to benefit from it, we must block doubt from entering into our minds.
“Mas tenga la paciencia su obra completa, para que seáis perfectos y cabales, sin que os falte cosa alguna (Santiago 1:4).
Cuando nos encontramos en problemas y pacientemente confiamos en Dios para manejar la situación, estamos demostrando nuestra confianza en él. Nos mantenemos igual a pesar de cómo nos sentimos, nada nos moverá. Continuando trabajando en nuestra fe es lo que producirá resultados.
“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing” (James 1:4).
When we encounter trouble and patiently trust God to handle the situation, we are demonstrating our confidence in him. We stay the same and refuse to let what we feel, hear, or see move us. Continuing to work our faith this way results in manifestations.
“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass” (Psalm 37:7).
Having patience does not mean putting up with a bad situation; it means persevering and being consistently, constantly the same, regardless of what others do. When our level of trust in God is high enough, we can rest in his word.
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7, 8, NIV).
When we trust in God, we open ourselves up to receive his blessings. Having total confidence in him pushes out fear and worry, and allows him to be our source for every need.
“Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward” (Hebrews 10:35, NKJV).
Our confidence in Christ has great compensation when it comes to seeing the manifestations in our lives of everything he promised us. Doubting his word is the equivalent to casting away that confidence, which is why it is so important not to waver in our faith.
“For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; in returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not” (Isaiah 30:15).
When we tune out the noise of the world and turn our hearts and minds back to God, we find peace and quiet for our souls and spirits. Having confidence in the finished works of Jesus makes us strong. If we refuse, the stresses and worries of the world weaken us.
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).
The peace of mind that only Jesus can give is available to us; we must choose to claim it for ourselves. The world isn’t capable of giving this type of peace to us. We have to put some mental effort into staying in this place of peace, regardless of what happens around us.
“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost” (Romans 15:13).
The Holy Spirit gives us hope, something not found in the world. When we believe in what Christ did for us and refuse to let anything take away that hope, we find joy and peace, two more spiritual gifts not found in the world.
“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost” (Romans 15:13).

“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption” (1 Corinthians 1:30).
When we are in Christ, our behavior does not determine our identity. Even when we sin and fall short, we are still righteous, holy, and redeemed.
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen” (2 Peter 3:18, NKJV).
It is not God’s will for us to worry. The more we deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ, the less we find ourselves worried and stressed.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6, 7, NKJV).
We don’t have to allow worry to rob us of the joy God wants us to have. We have his promise that when we prayerfully present our troubles to him, he’ll exchange our anxieties for his peace.
“For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose” (Philippians 2:13, NIV).
When we try to break a bad habit or change a behavior we know isn’t good for us, relying on our own willpower is not enough. His Spirit removes our own selfish wants and causes us to want to do his will for us.
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success” (Joshua 1:8).
As Christians, we are to meditate on the word of God and confess it openly. Applying it to our lives guarantees success and prosperity in every area of our lives.
“Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound” (Romans 5:20).
The grace of God was on Jesus, but this does not mean Jesus ever sinned. Jesus was grace in human form, and grace is always stronger than sin.
“And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him” (Luke 2:40).
Even as a young boy, God’s favor was on Jesus, because Jesus had the wisdom to trust God. Jesus let this faith guide everything he did and all his interactions with others. This mindset is an excellent model for us to follow.
“For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope’” (Jeremiah 29:11, NLT).
When we let God direct our lives, we won’t always understand what he’s doing, but we can trust that he only has good things on his mind concerning us. There’s never any guessing about his plans for us.
“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest’” (Matthew 11:28, NLT).
When we rest in Jesus’ finished works, whatever we do will prosper. He is grace, and we only find grace to deal with stress and worry when we have the confidence to rest in him.
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).
Jesus is the living word of God. He took on flesh and came to us in human form so he could demonstrate to us how to live victoriously on earth.
“He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time” (2 Timothy 1:9, NIV).
God loved us so much that he saved us from sin and death, even when we did not deserve it. He extended his grace to us in the form of his own son, who offers us the kind of life he has. Believing in him and what he did for us not only radically transforms our lives here on earth, but gives us eternal life in heaven later.
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty” (2 Corinthians 6:17, 18).
As children of God, we are commanded to live in a spiritually unclean world without allowing it to touch us by infecting our way of thinking. Living according to the word of God separates us from the rest of the world.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:17, 21).
Religion may say that we’re all sinners, but when we get born again, we receive a new spirit and we’re no longer sinners. Christ in us makes us holy and sinless, and he makes us as righteous as himself.
“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:1, 6, 8).
We are spiritual beings possessing a soul and living in a physical body. As born-again believers, when we leave our physical bodies behind, our spirits go directly to our eternal home to be with Christ.
“Pero teniendo el mismo espíritu de fe, conforme a lo que está escrito; Creí, por lo cual hablé.” Nosotros también creemos, por lo cual también hablamos (2 Corintios 4:13).
Hay una conexión entre lo que pensamos y lo que decimos. Cuando meditamos lo suficiente en la palabra de Dios, confesamos verbalmente nuestras creencias a otros. Permitiendo que la palabra se deposite en nuestros corazones.
“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak” (2 Corinthians 4:13).
There is a connection between what we think about and what we say. When we meditate long enough on the word of God, we verbally confess our beliefs to others. Letting the word sink down into our hearts strengthens our faith.
“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:6, 7, NIV).
Teaching the word of God to the next generation is not a one-time thing, but a lifelong process. To make an impression on young minds and hearts, we must consistently demonstrate godly speech and behavior.
“Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another” (Romans 14:19).
Successful relationships, the ones God intends for us to have, are peaceful and without strife or anger. When we let him guide us in this area, everyone encourages each other and builds each other up in love.
“Oil and perfume rejoice the heart; so does the sweetness of a friend’s counsel that comes from the heart” (Proverbs 27:9, AMPC).
True friends are gifts sent by God to enrich our lives. These are the types of people who always give us honest feedback when we need it, but do it with love. God works through them to make our hearts joyful.
