Daily Devotionals - March 2020

31Mar

March 31

“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come” (Matthew 24:42).

No one knows the day or hour of Jesus’ return, but He instructs us to stay ready, at all times, by abiding in His Word and obeying Him.
30Mar

March 30

“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision’ (Joel 3:14).

Life is a series of decisions. The most important decision we can make is to live for the Lord.
29Mar

March 29

“Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear” (Isaiah 59:1).

God is always listening and standing by to help those who cry out to Him. He’s always faithful.
28Mar

March 28

“God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land” (Psalm 68:6).

Deliverance from oppression is God’s covenant promise to His people. However, those who rebel against God will experience “drought” in their lives.
27Mar

March 27

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations” (Isaiah 14:12).

Satan is a fallen angel and his objective is to destroy mankind by any means necessary. We maintain our position in Christ by obeying God in order to avoid succumbing to the enemy.
26Mar

March 26

“Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light” (Ephesians 5:14).

When the truth of the Word of God enters our heart, it banishes spiritual darkness.
25Mar

March 25

“Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season” (Hebrews 11:25).

Sin has pleasure for a season, but the enemy always requires payback. It’s better to live for God and reap an eternal reward in heaven.
24Mar

March 24

“Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?” (Proverbs 6:27).

We must avoid putting ourselves in situations where temptation can get the best of us. We do that by fleeing those atmospheres and environments that encourage us to sin.
23Mar

March 23

“Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God” (2 Corinthians 7:1).

God requires holiness of every believer. Spiritually mature people pursue God’s way of doing things and shun those things that displease Him.
22Mar

March 22

“Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded” (Proverbs 13:13).

God rewards the person who respects and obeys His commandments.
21Mar

March 21

“Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken” (Luke 21:26).

Extreme fear is a sign of the times. However, those who are in Christ Jesus can live a fear-free life.
20Mar

March 20

“By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments” (1 John 5:2).

Our love for God is demonstrated through our obedience to His Word.
19Mar

March 19

“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain” (1 Corinthians 9:24).

The race we run is to obtain Christ and a life with Him throughout eternity. It’s important to remain focused on our goal as we run our race and refuse to be distracted.
18Mar

March 18

“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ” (2 Timothy 2:3).

Believers are soldiers in God’s army; as soldiers, the things we go through make us tougher and stronger. We should be the last ones standing when the battle is over.
17Mar

March 17

“Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him” (James 1:12).

For those who overcome and outlast temptation, God promises to give them a crown of life. We must keep an eternal perspective when the enemy pressures our flesh to sin.
16Mar

March 16

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1).

The Christian life is a race in which we must constantly keep ourselves away from anything that would slow us down in our pursuit of Christ.
15Mar

March 15

“Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah” (1 Samuel 16:13).

When God puts His supernatural ability on us, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish. The anointing enables us to easily carry out the assignment God has given us.
14Mar

March 14

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:37).

Through Jesus, we have conquering spirits. Confidence in His love causes us to win every time.
13Mar

March 13

“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation” (Romans 13:1, 2).

Spiritual and civil authorities are instituted by God, which is why we should submit to them. Rebelling against God-ordained authority keeps the blessing from operating in our lives.
12Mar

March 12

“Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience” (James 1:3).

When our faith is put on trial, we employ patience, which is remaining consistently the same no matter what is going on around us. Patience will see our faith through to the end.
11Mar

March 11

“Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God” (1 John 3:21).

While the Holy Spirit will convict us of areas we need to change, condemnation does not come from the Lord. Be free from condemnation.
10Mar

March 10

“And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming” (1 John 2:28).

Abiding in Jesus means allowing His Word to dwell in us and influence every decision we make in life. The abiding Christian is confident that Jesus will recognize him when He returns.
09Mar

March 9

“For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not” (Isaiah 30:15).

Confidence is the missing substance of faith. It is through our confidence in God that we gain strength to endure whatever we face in life.
08Mar

March 8

“It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man” (Psalm 118:8).

God will never fail us, even when other people do. We can put our trust in Him, and we’ll never be disappointed.
07Mar

March 7

“But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom” (Hebrews 1:8).

Jesus is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. His righteous reign is eternal.
06Mar

March 6

“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17).

It was through Adam’s disobedience that we were born into sin. It was through Jesus’ obedience to die for us that we were made the righteousness of God.
05Mar

March 5

“Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).

We must pray that God’s will is done on the earth. God works through our prayers to establish His kingdom purposes.
04Mar

March 4

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed” (1 Peter 2:24).

Healing is part of the salvation package. Jesus died on the cross so that we could be free from sickness and disease.
03Mar

March 3

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

God will never leave us stranded or in lack. We can trust and believe in His covenant promise to provide for us.
02Mar

March 2

“Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” (Genesis 3:1).

Satan’s objective is to deceive us through craftiness and suggestions that contradict God’s Word. When the devil speaks, we mustn’t listen.
01Mar

March 1

“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God” (Romans 4:20).

When things look impossible, that’s when we have to trust God the most. Our breakthrough comes when we refuse to give up on God’s Word.
