Daily Devotionals - November 2018

November 30

“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment” (1 Corinthians 1:10).

The body of Christ accomplishes much more in unity than in division. We are stronger when we set aside our differences and work together.

November 29

“Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 15:5, 6).

We’re empowered when we are of the same mind as Christ. The devil focuses his attacks on our thoughts, but being likeminded in the Lord keeps us safe.

November 28

“Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another” (Romans 14:19).

The apostle Paul instructed the church to seek peace with others. This is good advice to follow, because the enemy is powerless against us when we walk in peace and love.

“Airaos, pero no pequéis, no se ponga el sol sobre vuestro enojo “(Efesios 4:26).

Dios nos ha dado autoridad sobre nuestras emociones. Cuando nos sentimos enojados por algo, resolvemos el problema y luego dejarlo ir es más saludable que dejar que el resentimiento se arraiga dentro de nosotros.

November 27

“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath” (Ephesians 4:26).

God has given us authority over our emotions. When we feel angry about something, working out the issue and then letting it go is healthier than letting resentment fester inside us.
26Nov

November 26

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1).

Seeing others, instead of the devil, as our enemy opens the door to strife. We win at spiritual warfare when we realize what the enemy is up to, and work together as a unified team.
25Nov

November 25

“Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom” (Proverbs 13:10).

Pride hinders good communication, contributes to bickering, and leads to breakdowns in relationships. We show godly wisdom when we humble ourselves and resist the temptation to be drawn into an argument.
24Nov

November 24

“A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle” (Proverbs 18:19).

Strife is deadly to happy family relationships, and causes arguments and contention. Believers can disable this destructive force by taking authority over it.
23Nov

November 23

“And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand” (Matthew 12:25).

The spirit of strife divides families and splits friends apart, with the objective of driving a wedge between people. We are more effective when we resist strife and refuse to take offense.
22Nov

November 22

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).

Constantly studying the Word of God and hearing it preached strengthens our faith. The more we learn about what grace has made available to us, the stronger our faith becomes.
21Nov

November 21

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope” (Romans 15:4).

Patience and faith come from the Holy Spirit, who gives us plenty of both when we rely on Him. Hope can also be defined as an earnest expectation of what the Scriptures promise us.
20Nov

November 20

“For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise” (Hebrews 10:36).

Patience is not “putting up with something.” It is employing our faith for an extended period of time and staying consistent until we see the results that God promised.
19Nov

November 19

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing” (James 1:2-4).

On our Christian walk, we’re bound to encounter situations that rise against us to challenge us. We overcome them when we constantly, consistently remain the same and refuse to be moved by the situation.
18Nov

November 18

God has put many good things inside of us, and verbally confirming this is one way to bring those things to manifestation. Declaring our faith to others edifies us and encourages them.

“That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus” (Philemon 1:6).
17Nov

November 17

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” (Ephesians 3:20).

The power that works in us is faith. When we utilize it, our faith allows God to do great works through us and for us.
16Nov

November 16

“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3).

A relationship with Jesus Christ equips us with everything we need to excel and shine as Christians. He is the one who makes us stand out from the rest of the world.
15Nov

November 15

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).

All physical blessings begin in the spiritual realm. God has given us everything we need to succeed in life on every level.
14Nov

November 14

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19).

As believers, we’re not helpless victims at the mercy of whatever life throws at us. Jesus Christ gave us the power to walk in victory and defeat any evil circumstances that rise up against us.
13Nov

November 13

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).

When we preach the gospel, we must preach the truth in its entirety, not just what’s easy to hear. The truth is not that God is in complete control and everything is up to Him, but that Jesus gave His power and authority to us as believers to influence things on earth.
12Nov

November 12

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8).

As believers, we have authority over the devil, who has been reduced to trying to trick us into giving him permission to operate in our lives. We must examine how we live, so as not to open a door allowing him to enter in.
11Nov

November 11

“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” (Genesis 2:17).

God was not responsible for Adam and Eve dying; they made their own decision to disobey. Although God continues to love us when we make bad decisions, there are always consequences in the natural realm for everything we do.
10Nov

November 10

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

People who don’t understand God’s nature sometimes mistakenly blame Him when bad things happen. God doesn’t punish or kill people; He blesses and brings life to them.
09Nov

November 9

“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil” (Hebrews 2:14).

Before Jesus’ death and resurrection, the fear of death was the people’s main motivation behind everything they did. Now that death has lost its power over us, we can live our lives the way God intends—with no fear.
08Nov

November 8

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God” (Romans 5:1, 2).

For our lives to be effective, we must mix equal parts of grace and faith. Under the new covenant, grace is God’s part, and faith is our part.
07Nov

November 7

“For thus saith the Lord of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye” (Zechariah 2:8).

Believers are God’s beloved children and the apple of His eye, and therefore receive supernatural protection. When we trust in Him, we’re safe from harm, no matter what happens.
06Nov

November 6

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

At one time, sin was a barrier between mankind and God, but it’s no longer an issue. Jesus went to the cross and took our sins upon His own body so that we could once again stand in God’s
05Nov

November 5

“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ)” (Romans 5:17).

Born-again believers are saved, not because of what they do, but because of their faith in what Jesus did. Nothing can undo what He did; therefore, even when we make mistakes and miss the mark, we can never sin away our salvation.
04Nov

November 4

“You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance” (Psalm 65:11, NLT).

No matter what our situation is, when God shows up He brings abundant increase and blessings. His will for us is always overflowing goodness.
03Nov

November 3

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success” (Joshua 1:8).

What the world calls success can be meaningless and shallow. The kind of success God wants for us is permanent and gives us victory on every level.
02Nov

November 2

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you” (John 15:16).

God’s will is for us to be fruitful and succeed in life. When we accept His Word in faith, we activate the law of receiving that causes the promises He makes us come to pass.
01Nov

November 1

“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart” (Proverbs 4:20, 21).

The world spews out plenty of messages, but not all of them are beneficial to us. If we want to live successfully, we must tune our eyes and ears to God’s Word.
