One Ministry, One Church, One Message Worldwide
God is doing a mighty work in India, and Creflo Dollar Ministries is grateful to be a part of it. We recently spoke with Abraham Tammewar, office manager for CDM India. While he is a newcomer to this ministry, his energy and excitement for sharing the gospel are contagious and are evident in the work being accomplished there.
Abraham's Story
Abraham was born into Hinduism. As he learned more about Christ and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, he was ostracized from his family. He explained that in India, Christians are considered one of the lowest castes of society, and his conversion was an embarrassment to his family. He struggled to find his footing but remained steadfast in his newfound faith, taking solace in the promise that God would never leave him. More than fifteen years after his conversion, he has begun to notice a change in his family. They call him to request prayer, and he continues to believe for their full conversion.
Abraham’s wife was born Muslim, received Christ, and converted to Christianity. Together they have three children who say they can see how happy their father has been since taking on his current role with CDM India. He’d previously worked in corporate banking but was jobless for five years. During that time, he prayed for a way to work in ministry, and in 2022, his prayers were answered when he was offered the role of office manager for CDM India.
The Work
Abraham serves as a one-person shop for the ministry’s India office. His responsibilities include handling the administrative duties for the office, conducting outreach, and engaging members daily. His biggest and most rewarding task is responding to members’ prayer requests at all hours of the day and night—he estimates that he answers between seventy and eighty calls daily.
One outreach project that CDM India is involved with is the Anurag Children’s Home. This orphanage cares for children and adolescents who’ve been left by their parents or whose parents have contracted HIV. He regularly visits them to read books, conduct devotionals, and encourage the children. CDM India also supports the orphanage by providing them with water. Currently, only Abraham conducts this outreach, but he has been training 30 volunteers to assist him in this endeavor.
Abraham described the distinct regions, languages, and dialects of India. Of the CDM partners and friends, approximately 60% speak Hindi; the rest speak either English or another local language. He translates the ministry’s social media posts into Hindi, Telugu, and Marathi, and shares them with members via text messages daily. He works with a translator to translate Creflo Dollar’s messages into Hindi when neither he nor his wife are able to do so. Additionally, Abraham provides support to pastors around India who are connected to CDM and responds to requests for ministry materials.
Even though his list of duties is long, he does not tire of his work because of his passion for the kingdom. As a Hindu, Abraham served at one of the temples. In that role, he visited widows and orphans and delivered resources to them. He credits that time for giving him the experience he needs now to minister for Christ.
The Reward
Abraham’s passion and excitement are palpable when he speaks of the amazing testimonies he sees in India. He keeps a monthly log of the answered prayers, stories of spiritual growth, instantaneous healings, financial breakthroughs, employment offers, and miraculously pregnancies. Despite language barriers, people receive Creflo Dollar’s messages of hope and see change in their lives.
He gave an example of a couple ready to divorce after one year of marriage. After seeing some of the CDM social media posts that Abraham translates daily, they reached out to him for prayer. Abraham and his wife counseled the couple, and within ten days, they reported that they no longer intended to divorce and that God had completely renewed their marriage.
Abraham emphasized the need for translated resources and support for basic physical needs. He has also received many requests to expand CDM’s presence within the country. Indeed, the people of India are hungry for the Word of God. With passionate leaders like Abraham Tammewar spreading the gospel, there is no doubt that we will continue to receive wonderful testimonies of the impactful work of CDM India. We are World Changers, and we’re all in this together worldwide!
