Project Angel Tree 2022 Recap

by CDM Staff | 18 Jan 2023

Creflo Dollar Global Missions and World Changers Church International continued their annual Project Angel Tree outreach, along with a Christmas Fun event last month. The holidays provide an opportunity for the ministry to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ by making special wishes and dreams come true for metro Atlanta families. Whether it’s the safe, wholesome fun of our Fall Festival or the rewarding distribution of food for Thanksgiving, World Changers can be counted on to show up and make a difference. While the Christmas Fun event is open to the entire church family and surrounding community, Project Angel Tree is geared specifically toward those children who might not receive Christmas gifts otherwise.

Children were greeted by a spectacular gingerbread archway as they walked into the Christmas Fun event. Flickering lights led past a group of inflatable Santa bears into a magnificent Winter Wonderland that included many stations for fun and activities. Holiday-themed arts and crafts allowed kids of all ages to decorate Christmas cards, personalize gingerbread houses, and even design their own Christmas ornaments. The opportunity to stuff and decorate their own teddy bears to take home was a highlight of the day for many. A holiday train complete with working elves made a path around a Christmas tree in the center of the festivies to bring an extra dose of holiday delight. Along with ugly sweater and cookie decorating contests, face painting, and balloon sculptures, there were games, activities, prizes, and treats for all of the children present. CDGM and WCCI relished this opportunity to help create new holiday memories with people from the community and host a festive celebration to give an experience of family and fun in a safe environment where Christ is the center of it all.

Our partners, members, friends, and supporters really turned up for Project Angel Tree, helping us spread Christmas cheer to local families in need. As usual, young people from the community were pre-selected. This year, rather than placing the names on a physical Christmas tree in the lobby of the World Dome, the names and wishlists of the recipients made were available on the Creflo Dollar Global Missions website for people to choose from, as was the opportunity to simply make a financial contribution to the efforts. Participants purchased the requested gifts and had them shipping to the ministry. After enjoying the festivities of the Christmas Fun event, gift recipients were able to collect their presents before heading home. Smiles abounded from excited children and grateful parents alike; it was a great chance for us all to be thankful for the many blessings in our lives and to “feel” that Jesus is the reason for the season.

We want to extend a heartfelt “Thank you!” to everyone who contributed to Project Angel Tree. Your participation makes all the difference at these events; it gives us a wider reach and affects even more children. This annual event would not be possible if you were unwilling to lend us your time and resources. Because of your hearts of service, we make a considerable impact in showing love to young people so that they can replicate it in their lives and become a blessing to others. These acts of kindness demonstrate a prime example of how to put “Understanding Grace and Empowering Change” into action. We’re all in this together; we are World Changers!
